Terms of use
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These terms apply to the BudgetBuddy app and this website. By using BudgetBuddy you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the app.
Not financial advice
BudgetBuddy helps you track and plan your money: budgets, forecasts, payoff plans, health scores and AI-generated suggestions. It is general information, not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and doesn't replace a qualified professional. Forecasts and estimates are based on your past data and can be wrong. You're responsible for your own financial decisions.
Your bank data
Balances and transactions come from your bank through Plaid or Flinks, or from statements you upload. They can be delayed, incomplete or wrong; your bank's own records are the authority. BudgetBuddy can read your accounts but can't move money. Round-ups and goal contributions in the app are tracked, not transferred.
AI-generated content
Answers, categories, receipt readings, recaps and suggestions written by AI can be wrong or unsuitable for you. Check them before you rely on them.
Your account
Keep your password safe and make sure the email address is yours. You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you share a household, you choose what the other members can see. You can delete your account at any time (see how).
Subscriptions
BudgetBuddy Premium is billed through the app store you subscribed with, which also handles renewals, cancellations and refunds under its own terms.
Fair use
Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break into it, overload it, access other people's data, or use the AI features for anything unrelated to your finances. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that do.
Your data
Your data is yours. How we handle it is described in the privacy policy.
Availability
BudgetBuddy is provided "as is". We work to keep bank syncing and the AI features running, but can't promise they will always be available or error-free, and features may change over time. Export your data from the app if you want your own copy.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for financial losses, lost data or other damage arising from using BudgetBuddy. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
